Sheryl's Story
Life
Married to Andy LaBrada (class of 68)now 30 years. Oldest son married Nov 8, another son and daughter in college. We live in La Mirada. Have a home business, which Andy handles. Non medical senior caregiving services. Whittier and La Mirada areas plus Long Beach. Have worked at Sears now 41 years, worked in Long Beach, but since 2004 have transferred to the Brea Mall store. Still an American Ido fan. My favorite is Clay Aiken!!and now since 2009 season Adam Lambert is a favorite. I feel like a teenager again.
Well I guess it is now 8 years later, Andy and I are still married now (38) years, I am still with Sears, now 43 years, work at the Brea Mall, which is nice and close to home. Youngest daughter just turned 29 today, (july 30) but no grandkids. Can't rush them. (haha), Que si ra, si ra!!!! just will work on when and if to retire, but need med ins. so no time soon. Isn't too bad, as long as I can still bowl and go to Vegas once in a while I will be ok.
Flash forward to June 2014! A lot has happe...Expand for more
ned since my last posting. On Dec. 2, 2011 I lost my dear Andrew. He had a sudden brain hemorrrhage and passed away 2 days after. It was shocking and still is, but I have had to go on. I continued to work at Sears, but then had to take on a major role with the Company we had started, but he soley ran. Very hard at the beginning, but you do realize you have to be responsible for yourself and you find a way.
I am happy to announce I will be retiring from Sears after 46 years. I started at the Santa Fe Springs store when they opened in 1968, just 2 weeks after graduating from Sierra, and have been with them ever since. Luckily I have moved to different stores, most recently has been Brea. I am excited, but nervous because Sears has been my rock through my life, second to my family.
My other announcement is I am finally going to be blessed with a granddaughter in November. I have been anxious, but you can't force your children. I cannot wait.
Well enough about me. I feel like I am graduating AGAIN!!
