Also currently serve as Consutant to CLVL Solutions of Atlanta, GA.
Life has been very good and a most exciting adventure. Old friends are missed and I think of them often. A good word for me is happy! God has been good to me and I hope to all of us in more ways than we can count.
I purchased a home for retirement...not in TX! Too hot! As of January 2009, I moved back to NC., having left NC in 1992 for Atlanta and then to TX in 1996. Now that I have slowed down the pace a bit, I am looking forward to some type of semi-retirement (not ready to give it all up as yet) life and keeping myself busy.
My Mom and her sister lived with me on a full time basis for almost three years and I enjoyed that precious time. Mom passed away December 2011 and my Aunt 14 months later. Now, Mom and Dad rest peacefully at Parkhill Cemetary in Columbus side by side as they were in life.
I enjoy time with my two grandsons as well as my son, who lives in Lawrenceville, Ga and my daughter, who resides in Cumming, Ga. Living here in the mountains is truly wonderful and the weather has for the most part been a treat after leaving the heat of TX! There is so much to do and see and life is never still or boring. Every two years or so, I head to Maui and just relax and that gives me my beach treat. Also, there are some location on the beaches of Mexico where I can ...Expand for more
veg out a while before returning to my beloved mountains.
I remember the " baby chicks" in the library, football games, the Varsity, the terrific CHS band, so many friends and so many people I wish I had really gotten to know. I remember where I was sitting in class when President Kennedy was killed and the all the almost frantic feelings during the Cuban missle crisis...changing classes from TV set to TV set...room to room and almost nothing said by anyone. I remember the sock hops in the gym, my best friends Gloria Wilson and Beverly Phillips, one of my "loves, Guy Wilson...who married Gloria...and a great pair they make.... Jack Averett, Gus Evans and a terribly handsome Physics teacher. I remember the cherry bomb going off and rupturing the wall in Col. Mitchell's class...I remember choir and the stir the student teacher from the Univ. of Auburn made when she showed up to teach choir...I remember "Blackbird"... and I remember making straight A marks in geometry (a fete never to repeat itself, oh, if I'd only been that good in Ms Rogers algebra class!)...the drama class and the one-act plays, CHS pep rally's, the feeling that "this will never end and never be better". I recall climbing the steps up to the front door of the school, and I remember missing the sublime safe and excitment and warmth that I had during those years. I remember the innocence we all had, and wonder so often, how we have all changed, and hope that we all can remember that age and how wonderful it was to be in that place at that time.

I have loved the gifts of friendship and of mentors I've been given...just wish I had done more for others and knew then what I have learned over the years...but then don't we all.
I wish you well, and if you are reading this, you probably remember me in some way. I hope the memory is a good one and I wish you God's blessings.
