Pasties are as popular in the UP as burgers are elsewhere.
Omg, this little piggy went to market . . and said, “Does eating while I’m laying down make my butt look big?” I have to admit to doing the same thing sometimes.
Headed to the auction block.
Each hole has instructions about how to shoot clays.
Everybody has their own scorecard. An X means you killed the clay and a zero means that you didn’t hit it. Everything is added up and kept track all weekend to determine the winner.

This is the .410 I shot. It’s a Spanish gun from about 1960 and is an Arietti.
Notice the beautiful details and the previous owner’s initials. It weighs about 5 pounds which is good for females and kids to start on even though it’s an expert’s gun.
So to fit a person for a gun, you have to shoot at the steel target. It is first painted with the lithium Ion grease.
He’s painting the lithium ion on for me in a blue shade which will show the pattern of the buck shot when I shoot the gun. Seeing the pattern on this board helps to determine if the gun fits you properly or not.
So the instructor had me aim at the center of the board which is this big dimple in the middle. I pulled the trigger and mainly hit the center of the board although I was off to the right a little bit which you can see in t
He had me keep both eyes open and rest my cheek against the stock and put the butt of the stock against my shoulder. He told me to aim at the center of the board and not look down the barrel at the site. I shot it 3 times a
Everybody there had to wear ear protection, which you can see is the headphones I’m wearing, and eye protection.
This is the machine that throws the clay pigeons into the air. They are very lightweight and are made of pitch.
This was my instructor and his poor little doggie. I didn’t tell you about the fourth shot!
