Kristy's Story
I find myself back in Redlands once again. I moved to Phoenix and there met the man that I would marry. He was a Marine stationed at Jacksonville, NC. So off I go to North Carolina. After 2 years of marriage I decided to divorce him. Should of listened to my gut but no I listened to everyone else telling me what a great and loyal guy he was. Turns out he is a great and loyal guy but just boring as hell. He just didn't have enough bad boy in him. For those of you that really know me I have a wild streak and need to push the envelope sometimes. After the divorce my father convinced me to move back home to Redlands. He missed his little girl and being a daddy's girl the feeling was mutual. I put my big girl panties on again and moved to Florida. I was offered a full relocation package from my company so I took it. First stop was Jacksonville, FL. I HATED every minute I was there. It was a mix of hillbillies meet Compton. I met a few good people and we are still friends but the majority of people were so uneducated. Proper English was ...Expand for more
nonexistent. There was a lot of "he dos" instead of "he does" and so on. I felt my IQ slipping living there. I had to get out. I put in for a transfer and found myself in Tampa. I LOVED my life there. Nicer class of people. Smarter too. Being a Californian surviving the humidity was a skill I had to learn. In the middle of building my life in Tampa I got the horrible phone call that nightmares are made of. My father had passed away. Totally unexpected. I flew home the next morning to start arrangements. It was during all of this chaos that I realized I was going to have to make a decision in regards to my mother. After tons of soul searching and being the ever dutiful daughter I made the move back to Redlands to care of my mother. Moving back made me deal with my fathers' passing while caring for my mother who was slowly driving me insane. If it wasn't for my amazing BFF and her hubby I would have not made it this far. I have now come out the other side. A new chapter of my life is about to begin and I am excited about writing it.
