Shireen's Story
Life
Recently married - to my dream husband. This man is educated, gentle, funny and is as comfortable cooking over a campfire while wearing jeans as he is in a tuxedo, attending a gala night at the symphony.
My two children are now grown and have moved out of the house. I can't say they have perfect lives, I am far from a perfect parent, but know that life can take unexpected turns that provide opportunies for growth, even if it is painful.
Workplace

b) and have finally settled down to work in a major telecommunications company.
My current positions is that of the Service Manager for an operations support group. It is challenging and stimulating. Not a day goes by that I don't learn something new. I am the only female in the group. There are other women in our district, which encompasses all of southern Ontario, but they work in an administrative capacity (i.e. they're secretaryies). I love working with men. They're almost universally more even tempered and easier to get along with. They treat me as "one of the boys" and respect my knowledge and opinion on technical issues in our very complex infrastructure.
