Company History
Shirlee’s biological mom, Imogene (Jean) Bennette Carney founded Carney Realty in 1983. Jean was well respected in Gulf Shores and was known for her integrity and hard work ethics. Shirlee took over the retail part of Carney Realty in 2003 and has been instrumental (along with her husband) in growing the company tremendously with exclusive waterfront developments & commercial products. Shirlee has been focused on not allowing the company to franchise and lose what her mom worked so hard to achieve. Shirlee is passionate about taking care of her clients and making sure their expectations are met. She will not allow her company to become a “numbers game” in terms of having 50 realtors working who don’t make a 100% of their income from real estate. When you are Shirlee’s client you ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON.
Personal History
Born in a small town of Alabama and have lived in California, Illinois & Minnesota. Worked for United Air Lines and love to fly in small aircraft. Belonged to War Birds and flew in air shows in Wisconsin. Was a ten K runner in the Port City Pacers; enjoy boating, reading, & listening to great music and spending as much time as possible with my children and grandchildren.
Shirlee’s daughter, Dr. Tiffany Veal-Halm is also an owner of a business in Gulf Shores, Alabama They both have inherited Jean Carney’s work ethic and attention to their clients/patients. They both feel Jean Carney would be proud of them. After all everything they know about working with people, they learned from Jean.
