Shirleen's Story
Life
I teach high school in South Los Angeles at John C. Fremont High School. July begins my sixth and last year. I was unable to work on an emergeny credential as a teacher in my then hometown of Simi Valley, CA I moved to the big city to reduce student loan debt and gain amazing experience.

Prior to motherhood eleven years ago, I worked in Human Resources as a manager during the heydays of manufacturing and aerospace. That's where I met my son's father who is an engineer. After that, I remained in Human Resources working for Seagrams and Tropicana Orange Juice Companies.
I love teaching! There's more stress but I enjoy four months paid vacations and time with my child!
