Shirleen's Story

After graduation from University of Evansville in '61 with a Degree in Medical Technology I worked at Welborn Clinic in Evansville briefly before heading to California. I settled in San Francisco and worked at UCSF Medical Center in microbiology. I married a young man from Napa Ca. in 1964, we had 2 children and lived in Los Gatos, Ca. Unfortunately he passed away in 1982 of brain cancer. After Ian and Ashley graduated from college I moved to Palo Alto and worked at Stanford University as a embryologist in IVF. I now live with my current husband Edward Schulz. We married in 2011 after being together for 27 years. I love to garden and do a lot of traveling. The highlites of my travels are the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, wonderful trips to Egypt, sailing the coast of Turkey, skiing in the Alps, snorkling in Fiji. I have also traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands (where Ed and I got married), Tahiti, Hawaiian Islands. I have also traveled a lot with Ed to South Africa, Chili, and Argentina where he sells wine barrels. I recently returned from a trip to London with 2 girlfriends from EU. I am lucky enough to have all 4 of my grandchildren (ages 6 thru 9) living nearby in Napa.
