Shirley's Story
Life
Let's see... After I left ICA in the middle of freshman year, I enrolled into South San Francisco Highschool for the remainder of the year. It was my first experience with public school since like kindergarten so it was scary for me, being as backward socially as I was. After that summer, my family moved to Burlingame, CA and I was enrolled in Burlingame High School. I made lots of friends with kids in my classes, but my really good friends were freshman, and I loved it we all hung out together and supported each other through good and bad times. I finished high school there, and because I didn't do too hot with the grades I went to College of San Mateo. I liked it enough I guess. I soon stopped going to classes though, and then completely dropped out. In between I was working long hours at the new Chuck E Cheese's in San Bruno, and after I quit there I worked at a video store on like Primrose Avenue in Burlingame. That was alot of fun. At Chuck E Cheese, I met Tyler, Paul, and David. The 3 musketeers of CEC. David and I started going out in 1995. The next year on for my 21st birthday, he and I went on a trip to Arizona to see his sister and nieces and nephew. We had a great time. After that I moved into his place, and then in Nov of 1996 he and I got married. In 1998, at my cousin's baby shower, some one asked when Davi...Expand for more
d and I were going to have kids. I sarcastically answered that we'd be having our first in about 9 months, because at the time David was gone with the CANG. Little did I know I was right. The day before he got back from his 2 week stint in the California desert, I got a positive pregnancy test back. That night, his friend's wife went into labor and David drove him back up from Camp Roberts. He called my mom's house but I was at the hospital getting blood drawn for a 'real' pregnancy test. LOL. A few days before Thanksgiving I went into labor. I was given medication but not bedrest. On Christmas eve that year, I was admitted to the hospital. I stayed for 2 weeks on meds so the baby wouldn't be born. I went home and 2 and a half days later Joey was born. After that we moved to Idaho, then David enlisted in the Army, and we moved to Tacoma, WA. On Father's day of 2000 Caleb was born. In February of 2001 we moved into our army housing, and nine months later, Halle was born. It's been crazy with three kids, but we're doing alright. Now we're living in Georgia, and David's deployed to Iraq. He'll hopefully be home in January, and then he'll be getting out of the ARmy in April ( abirthday present for me??:D) If things work out well, we'll be moving back to California, which I will be glad for. We've been away for too too long.
