More about Shirley:"Shirley has over 20 years of motivational speaking and Life Skill Coaching. She has captivated audiences with her willingness of opennessâ by sharing her life experiences. She has continued to encourage a countless number of people to find break-through in their own lives.
In 1991, she began her public speaking throughout the community, to educational institutions and correctional facilities. Speaking to an audience of some 1,500 students at the University of Norte Dame to Empowerment Conference to Correctional Facilities through the State of Michigan.
Shirley developed and implemented the first mentoring program for Peckham Vocational Center in 1996 and during her 5 year tenure at the facility; teaching and coaching life skills; the 54th District Court Family Division entrusted her with their group training for the youth violators; teaching them life skills and impacting their lives for the betterment of the community. She developed a handbook for mentors and this book is still being utilized in the program at Peckham.

Simultaneously, Shirley also established her non-profit organization called âAgainst All Oddsâ which provides breasts cancer support and information for African American women and their families. Being a two-time survivor herself, Shirley saw the need to offer support and education to empower African American women, and their families, in their quest to regain ownership of their lives. Living a fulfilled life is truly possible!
Shirley continued to horn her skills by attending Mr. Les Brownâs Speaker Training in 2004 in Chicago, IL; which enhanced her ability to motivate and empower people to reclaim their life and live in their greatness. She has attended his trainings numerous times over the past 8 years; sharpening her skills to perfection.
Shirley has numerous accolades to attribute to her hard work; in 2000 she was an Honoree of the International Whoâs Who of Professional and Business Women eight edition for her Significant Career Achievements and Contribution to Society and in 2005 she received the âWoman of the Yearâ award from the American Biographical Institute. Special Tribute from the State of Michigan House of Representative, Proclamation from the Mayor of Lansing and A Key to the City; from the City of Miami, FL.
Her willingness to empower the communities of which she is called to support has made her a phenomenal woman and a valuable asset to society. Empowering mankind has become her mission.
