Shirley's Story
I've been working in the secretarial field since 1970 when I was in Office Education at school. I have had three jobs in my career.
I have been married to Rick since 1980. We have two children - Sara (26) going to school for nursing and Kyle (23) just graduated from MATC with a degree in Visual Communications. Anyone looking for a new employee????
We love camping and go with family twice a year for nine days each. We have been to Mexico twice. We were in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with family in 2005 to celebrate our 25th anniversary. My twin sister, Sheryl, who was with us had suffered a heart attack on the third day of vacation. She was in the hospital five days and had to extend her vacation for thre...Expand for more
e more days before she could fly back home. The following day after she returned she had two stents put in for blockages.
I was always shy in school. I think people would be surprised to know that I have come out of my shell a bit. I have been active with the Alzheimer's Association since 1999. We have had a family team since then and have raised over $25,000. For two years I was on the committee to organize the annual Memory Walk for Alzheimer's and in 2006 and 2007 I was co-chair of the Walk with my older sister. During my term I was on The Morning Blend on Channel 4 and Milwaukee Group radio stations talking about the Walk. I have done this all in honor of my dad who died of the disease in October of 2002.
