Shirley's Story
I graduated from Daniel in 65 and went to the University of Manitoba for Education 1A. I taught my first year in Gimli and than back to Winnipeg to teach at Somerset School for 4 years. I got married in 1968 and began having children in 1971. I have three children and in 1984 my husband,(Douglas Cassie-Grant Park High 1965)died of a sudden illness.My children were 13,10 and 5. and married Jack McDonald of Winnipeg (Silver Heights 1962). We have been married 28 years. I finished my B Ed in 1993 and went back to teaching. I ended as a Guidance Counsellor for 3 years at St. James Collegiate and 5 years at Lord Nelson School in the north end of Winnipeg. I am now retired and enjoying life, although I seem to be as busy as ever. Lots of grandchildren and one on the way any day now! Life is good! I live in Westwood, We Daniel people just move west.
