Shirley Cooper:

CLASS OF 1968
South san francisco, CA

Shirley's Story

It is astounding to think that I graduated from SSFHS forty years ago! 1968 was probably the worst year in history (prior to George W. Bush being elected) and the most confusing time to go out and face the real world. My life has been for the most part, content and happy. A 23-year-old marriage to a sweet, kind man ended with his death in 2001. I am lovingly surrounded by funny, creative, loyal friends and have re-entered the dating world with trepidation and abject curiousity. It seems the younger men want a mother, the older men want a nurse and the men my age want a 30-year-old who owns her ...Expand for more
own condo. I have been in the broadcasting business for the past 30 years, starting in radio and then eventually turning to television. I currently work in the sales department of a major Bay Area TV station and have been laboring happily away here for the last 16 years. I have the amazing good fortune to work with really talented people. I have two cats, an amazing wardrobe and an apartment with an ocean view. I love that I am a native San Franciscan and am unashamedly snobbish about that fact. (The last time I wore white shoes was on my wedding day!) The Universe smiles...and so do I.
