Shirley's Story
HI! After high school I went to Western and stayed for five years getting a music degree and elementary teaching degree. I went on to teach in the Tahoma School District #409 (Maple Valley, WA) for thirty years, first as a music teacher, then as a third and fourth grade teacher. I have a position now working as the permanent sub for the teacher's association president. It is perfect for a retiree and I'm counting the days till full retirement.

ing and solo a great many years and sang with the Seattle Symphony Chorale before I got married. I was even privileged to solo once with the symphony.
I married Chris Taylor on January 3, 1981 and moved to Kent. Along with Chris I acquired three children. My oldest stepson is like my own as I raised him. Chris and I also had a daughter, Erin, born on March 19, 1984. She is now 27 and engaged to be married. We have a total of seven grandchildren so far (six grandsons, one granddaughter).
I miss my music and would like to start training young adults in voice. I would also like to write children's books. Maybe, someday.
It would be fun to get in touch with some old friends and catch up. I live in Kent WA, but I don't get up to Bellingham as much as I would like. My family up there have all passed, but I do have some wonderful friends that I keep in touch with.
