Shirley's Story
Life
Hi: I am the mother of 4 boys and the grandmother of 7 beautiful children( 4 girls and 3 boys). I am loving being a grandmother. I taught school in Perry for 30 years. I taught at Perry High School from 1975 through 1997. Those were really good years, but I really enjoy retirement. I am no longer Shirley Parker (in name) since I have remarried to a wonderful guy named Bill Lee. We still live in Perry and spend our time visiting children and grandchildren,working in the yard and visiting with friends and doing vollunteer work.
School
I grew up in the small town of Braxton, Mississippi. I attended Mendenhall High School,Copiah Lincoln Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi. I worked as an County Extension Agent in Copiah County Mississippi. I married James Parker and we moved to Mobile Alabama. Our first two boys were born in Mobile, but when the Air Force Base closed we went to Oklah...Expand for more
oma. Our third son was born there and we lived in Oklahoma for five years. Because of FAmily we moved to Georgia in 1968. Our 4th son was born here and We made Perry Georgia our home. I taught in the Perry Public school for 30 years, 23 of which were at Perry High. I am now retired living in Perry and enjoying life, my children and grandchildren. I married Bill Lee in 1993 and we enjoy traveling, visiting with the children and grandchildren, working in the yard, visiting with friends, walking and reading. Life is Grand!!!
College
Copiah Lincoln, my first home away from home. The friendships and experiences were greaat and a wonderful two years in my college life. Then on to bigger and better things, University of Southern Mississippi. Much larger and many more new friends and enjoyable experiences.
