Shirley is from Los Angeles, California and currently resides in Placentia, California. She attended George Washington High School.graduating in 1951. After completion of high school she was accepted for employment at the FBI in the Los Angeles office where she met her husband and worked until her first child was born in 1957. mother for 18 years. At that time she accepted part-time employment in a law office as a secretary. She ultimately became the secretary to the City Attorney of Brea where she worked until retirement after 30 years in 2005. She has four children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandkids.
