Shirley's Story
Life
After I graduated from Pershing, I attended Wayne University for a year and then got a job at a credit corp. My supervisor introduced me to her brother on a blind date, and he became my husband in 1957. I later worked at GM for five years and then became a stay at home mom for 13 years. I worked as a "Kelly Girl" for 20 years, mostly at the GM Tech Center, but also many other places.

e performed in Carnigie Hall in NY and on a cruise ship on the way to Bermuda. This year my chorus won 1st place in regional competition. In November of 2008 we will be competing in International cometition at Honulluo, Hawaii.
I also raise puppies for the "Leader Dogs School for the Blind School". Right now, that takes up most of my time and energy.
We have two adult children and three grandchildren. One in college, one in high school and one in elementary.
My best friend in high school was Shirley Willman, whom I still see today.
