Shirley's Story
I moved to Milwaukee, WI after graduating from Southern University. I retired as an elementary principal. I came out of retirement to work as a principal in both charter and choice schools. I also worked as program director for Headstart. I got married an had one absolutely wonderful son. He is an eight grade teacher.
I still sing. I am part of a community choir in Milwaukee. We sing music written by Black coll...Expand for more
ege music directors, spirituals, gospel,classical,show tunes, ballards and blues. We have toured Europe to entertain the troups, performed at Carnegie Hall, sang at the Washington National Cathedral, performed with the Duke Ellington orchestra under the direction of his son, The Milwaukee Symphony, Pork and Bess with the Floratine Opra Company and churches. I got my love of varias kinds of music from Hogan.
