Life My Spouse It was a blind date in May of my senior year in high school. Marty had just finished up a tour of duty with the US Army. My friend, Roberta Snerson, was dating Barry Adler, a friend of Marty's. Our first date was May 5; on May 12, Marty's aunt had a welcome home party, so we didn't see each other that weekend (M lived in the Bronx); we resumed dating on May 12 and never missed a week after that. We went to my senior prom together just a little over a month later, and he proposed as we rode around Central Park in a horse and buggy after the prom. We got married after our sophomore year in college and will celebrate our 43rd anniversary in June, 2001. My Kids Caren is 38 and lives in the Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Marietta. She attended Lewisburg (PA) high schoold for three years; we moved to Harrisburg (PA) just before her senior year, and she graduated from Susquehanna High School. She got her BS from Duke University and went to work for Ross Perot's EDS in Michigan right after EDS merged with GM. She met husband Mike Deneen at EDS. They had their first baby (Jake, now a year old) after 9 years in a fertility clinic. Jake is the apple of their eye! Caren is now a full-time mom--and loving every minute of it! Mike worked for Coca Cola until very recently; he is now with UPS in Atlanta. Amy graduated from Susquehanna High and got a BS in engineering from Tufts University. Immediately after graduation from Tufts she married Robert Hartnett, another Tufts engineering student who had graduated a year earlier. They had two children, Jessica (now 12 1/2) and Bret (now 10). Then Bob decided that he had "missed his youth" and asked for a divorce...a real trauma for the children and Amy, as well. The divorce proceedings took about seven years!
