Life
Well, I'm glad I found this site by accident. Good to see so many names of people I knew at AHS listed. As for me, to summarize, after leaving AHS I went to work for Crown Assets Disposal Corporation (Crown Corp) as a clerk. After a few years there, I went out West (Banff / Vancouver)with some friends and worked there for awhile. Returning to Ottawa in 73, I joined External Affairs (now Foreign Affairs)as a rotational clerk. In 74, I was assigned to the Cdn Embassy in Tokyo. In 76, I returned to HQ in Ottawa to work in the Finance Section. In 78, I went to our Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as the Embassy's Office Manager. From there, in 78, I went to our High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 81, to Seoul, Korea, In 83, to Cairo, Egypt. In 85, to New York for temp duty at UNGA. In 86, to Bridgetown, Barbados. In 89, to Nairobi, Kenya. In 90, to the Foreign Service Directive Section in HQ. In 91, to Seoul, Korea again. In 95, to the Procurement Section in HQ. In 97, to Ki...Expand for more
ngston, Jamaica. In 2001, back to the Foreign Service Directive Section in HQ. In 2002, to the Technical Security Section in HQ. In 2003, to Tokyo, Japan again. In 2006, to Vienna, Austria where I am now (see photo of me in my apartment). During my career with FAC I've worked in Administration, Finance, Property/Material Mgmt / Personnel and Consular / Passport - even went from Tokyo to Phuket, Thailand in Dec 2004 to assist with finding missing Cdns after the tsunami struck. Next year I'll have my 35 years of pensionable service and I'm thinking of retiring. I have a house in Beacon Hill North and I plan to spend Spring/Summer/Fall in Ottawa working on my golf game - I really need it. The winters I hope to spend at my one bedroom flat in Phuket, Thailand. I have a common-law wife in Ottawa and a 19 year daughter, Sonya, attending Algonquin College. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Hope to hear from some of you at some point. Boy, the years have certainly flown by. Bye for now.
