Simon's Story
Sarah (Pace) Chavez & I have been married 35 years & had 2 children. A son Aaron, who passed away at age 30 on Nov. 8, 2008 and a daughter Leah who's thankfully still with us. Aaron's loss has been the most awful thing we've ever endured. He was hit by 3 vehicles as he crossed a busy street near home. He left 2 daughters, who are now age 11 &7. His ex-wife remarried. Leah is married & has 3 sons, aged 7, 5 & 1 years old. We've been kept going, because the grandkids & our daughter need us....Expand for more
The Compassionate Friends mtgs (for parents who've lost a child of any age), and our church have been a comfort to us. We live in Missouri & I've worked at 3M Co. for 30 plus years, & Sarah's worked at her job for 20 years. All of my family still live in TX, so we get back to Plainview once in awhile - though not as often as we'd like.
Dec 2012 / Feb 2013 - Late note: our daughter's husband left her & 3 little boys, after 11 yrs married - so we're trying to help her through this trauma.
