After raising 5 normal (that's relative) children, I went to school and earned my Bachelor's and then Master's in May, 2009; I'm a late bloomer! As a bonus, the university offered to let me pursue a PhD, but after 1 year, I decided not to work that hard. It's been stated that our brains start to deteriorate after age 27. I wish someone had told me that earlier; I wouldn't have worked so hard for my degrees. However, the upside to all of this is that I am currently teaching English online for 2 universities, one being Brigham Young University - Idaho, my favorite. I get to live in southern Utah during the winter where I can hike all over Zion's National Park, in my home a few months, and then up at Bear Lake (Garden City), Utah--just about anywhere there is internet with enough bandwidth. As for grandchildren, I'm now up to 21, two who are married, and see them quite often--they keep me young. I have a beautiful bike I ride all over town to do grocery shopping, visit "The Kids," and shop at Kohl's with my 30% off, which means I have to limit my shopping to what fits in the baskets. Well, I hit 70 and my children can't figure out when I'm going to act my age. Anyway, all of that keeps me out of trouble; otherwise, who knows where I'd be.
