Sonia's Story
Life
Hi, I am living in Stillwater, Oklahoma. My oldest son is living with me. He is attending college and works. I have my own business. And I also do something new and fun for me... I direct the traffic leaving the Oklahoma State University football games (Go Cowboys) and their basketball games. I married a soldier from Illesheim in July 75. We were married for 24 years, lived in many states, and got to go back to Germany in 84 -87, where our oldest son was born. I now have been divorced for 6-1/2 yrs.
School
I had a great time at Ansbach. I really enjoyed Ms. Van Sweden's English Literature class and Speech/Drama. I was so shy back then.. but I still remember Speech class. Oh and having to learn 250 lines of Shakespeare to pass her class. I remember about 5 of them now. Mr. Westhusin, was a great teacher.... Civics and Government... always a gentleman. Very funny sense of humor.. he had to have with guys that were in my class giving him a hard time every day. Ms. Pileggi... knew I was not artistic... but she still encouraged me to try and ju...Expand for more
st be myself with it. I ended up with 5 children, and 4 of them are awesome artists. I loved Home Ec class... can't remember my teacher's name.. but she was sweet and a lot of fun. I chopped the onions for the dressing for the whole faculty Thanksgiving dinner our class made for them. Anyone remember coming from stateside marching bands.. to Mr. Mutch's band class?? What a hoot... he had us playing "Mary Had A Little Lamb"... where did they get him from.. lol?? Biggest crushes.. I'll never tell.. remember I was shy back then.. not so now though. I made so many great friends in Illesheim and at Ansbach. Oh, one memory that stands out is the bus ride to and from school each day... German bus driver that drove fast, budding romances on the bus, Black Sabbath on the boombox, Illesheim star football players, MP's and Dads taking turns riding the Jr. High bus..playing cards, standing in the cold and dark so early in the morning for the bus... and more. Hope to hear from any of you and if you ever come to Oklahoma.. stop in Stillwater... Sonia Haub in phone book.
