Sonja's Story
I'm in my 25th year of teaching at Beloit College in Education and Youth Studies. My career followed having taught German for eight years in Ames, Iowa and having two children, Andre and Tenaya who have written several books on cocktails together. alaam, Tanzania and Gabarone, Botswana, where I was a visiting professor for a semester in 2004 and 2013 respectively. I have studied Kiswahili, Setswana and Arabic, all languages that I find fascinating. My research took me to many other African countries, where most of my work involved women's literature.
I will be retiring soon and have yet to choose my next vocation.
