Sonja's Story
I am retired after working 8 years as Administrative Assistant/Secretary at Sturdivant LIfe Ins. Co. In No. Wilkesboro... then 34 years for Employment Security Commission of NC as Asst.Mgr/Office Supervisor. Along the way I married R.C.Perry and we had 2 wonderful children. My husband passed away in 1985, my children grew up...daughter got married, had 2 boys , divorced, later remarried and divorced again. Daughter is employed in IT executive positon with DelHaize Enterprises in Salisbury office and lives in Salisbury. CIO. Both of my grandsons are now grown, one in college finishing up his last year at UNC Greensboro (after attending 3 yrs. and UNC Wilmington) and oldest one employed with Rick Hendrix Motor Sports as an appraiser in the body shop. . I do not have any great grandchildren....yet! Can't complain about my life...been some rough patches along the way but has made me a stronger person.
Belong to Wilkes YMCA and go 3 times a week for low-impact water aerobics.
I love shopping for collectibles at bargain prices and will be reselling when economy picks up,(hopefully soon).
Love going to the high school reunions and re-acquainting with classmates. Hope to see you there next time!
