Spencer's Story
Hello, there!
To get you up to speed, I moved to Tacoma, WA in 1997 to pursue some employment opportunities, managed to get my Green Card, change jobs twice and get married and have two boys in the mean time. I can't believe that I am still here. My heart and soul is still in Canada (go Canucks!) but my body is here.
I don't regret being here other than I miss home, as this opportunity has been eye opening and rewarding.
I have managed to travel a little, not as much as I want - oh, it is contagious! I have been to Lima, Peru - hiked to Machu Picchu; hiked on each island in Hawaii and snorkled at Molokini; I have been to Europe a couple of times, seeing beautiful sites and countries such as Holland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, Italy, Belgium, and Spain. I cannot wait to go back. The last time I went it was with my wife, Stacey and our first boy, who was almost 2 at the time and a real trooper the whole trip.
Stacey, and I have two boys, Broderick and Greyson, born in 2006 and 2008. They are a handful, as boys will be, both being very energetic and adventurous.

I went to Fraser Valley College to get my drafting deploma, but after 5 years of trying to make that career work, I went back to school. I attended BCIT to get my Civil and Structural Diploma and carried that momentum on to Lakehead University in Thunder Bay to get my Engineering Degree (Civil). I graduated in December of 1994.
Following that, I worked for a couple of years in Vancouver, then, coinciding with a troubled economy in Canada, I moved down to Tacoma to work as an Engineer in a private firm. I later went on to work at the City of Tacoma and now have ventured off again to head up the USA and West coast headquarters for a UK parented firm, Dorman Varitext, which provided traffic calming solutions through electronic signage. Interesting and challenging stuff.
My email address is spencercaurus at the hot mail dot company if y'all want to get a hold of me.
If you knew me back then, you knew Bonnie McDougall as well, and as fate would have it, I still am friends with Mrs. Gilham today, although she likes the Calgary Flames and lives in Calgary now, and I just don't know how to deal with that!!
