Spencer's Story
After MHS, I went to LJC for a couple of years, then transferred to Texas A & I in Kingsville and got my B. S. in Secondary Ed with minors in Drama and Speech. After graduation, I worked at Wharton Jr. High School, in Wharton, TX., and 3 years later I married Rosa Judith Villarreal, a '69 MHS graduate, and moved back to Laredo to take care of my wife's mom after my father-in-law passed away. I taught at St Augustine's for a couple of years, then took a job with the Texas Migrant Council Head Start teaching four years old kids. he cancer from spreading. Just when we had resigned ourselves to be childless, God and a distant relative gave us the opportunity to adopt our first child, Cindy Teresa. Seven years later, we adopted our son, Denholm Edward. Since then I worked most of my life in Laredo, except for a couple of years I worked in Austin. I retired June 30, 2007 from LISD after 36 years of teaching. I moved to Round Rock, TX in August '07 so that my wife and I could take care of our first grandson, Miles Gabriel Ybarra. He's 21 months old and and the cutest kid in the world. If you don't believe me, just look at some of the pics I'm going to post.
