Stacey's Story

In the Q&A, I say I "moved far away" after hs; but not everyone will consider Cleveland, OH as "far away." But it was a very BIG & exciting pond for a fish coming from a smaller & rather dull one. Moved back to Cola-town about 4 years later. In hs, I thought I would go on to college, albeit community perhaps at first. My goal was to be a teacher. And in Cleve., I did start part-time at good ol' Cuyahoga Community College ("Tri-C"). But everyone I met told me "You don't want to be a teacher HERE." So I gave up that idea. (and perhaps there are alot of would-be students of mine who did not have the advantage of my Wisdom & Enouragement.) And it turned out I lost interest in furthering my own education, much less anyone else's. If I could have a do-over, I'd resolve to get that education while I was young-er. After a long day of Accessing & Exceling, I relax by watching "mindless" animated movies & family films. I also enjoy a good chick flick and several of the larger sci-fi/fantasy franchises such as Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, and our bespectacled friend Harry. However, I must say that my insurance company employeer gave me the opportunity in June to start working from home, and I find I need far less rela...Expand for more
xation. No morning dash out the house. No traffic snarls. No one hovering or distracting. Speaking of work, the weirdest job I've had (so far... I'm still young, ya know!) was while temping in Cleve. after a lay-off when the dept store I worked for in OH merged with a sister chain. I worked at 2 different trade shows at a booth for Iams/Eukanuba pet foods... shoving sample packets at everyone I could and urging them to sign up for the fabulous give away of - well, whatever it was. Year supply of Eukanuba? The coolest thing about it was, as shy as I was, I had to get out my shell to do the job. I had to pretended I wasn't me for a couple hours the first day in order to break the ice. At any rate, today, I'm single and never married. No kids. One dog. A roomate and the cat. I'm an "operations support analyst" (??) for a managed care company, having just returned to them for one year now after a hiatus of almost 4 years. (Over the hiatus, I was a receptionist at a construction management co, and then I tried working as a care giver in residential environment for our fellow human beings with very special needs.) The Q&A section will tell you more about my likes & dislikes. And I'm glad to be alive in the USA.
