Stacie's Story
Life
Hello everyone! Currently I am working as a Special Education teacher with kids that are emotionally disturbed. The work is very challenging and rewarding. The progress that my students make no matter how small is always amazing! I go backpacking as much I can, I love to play golf and go wine tasting. From the years that I spent in Tahoe (16), I fell in love with the mountains and haven't been the same since. I coach several sports with Special Olympics. No wonder I'm not married yet, no time :).
College
I went back to college after working as a Massage Therapist in Lake Tahoe for 8 years. I had my own shop for awhile and loved ...Expand for more
it. I had a knee injury while training for The Lake Tahoe Marathon in the Spring of 1995 and was out of work for 2 years. After the first 6 weeks at home I was going crazy from boardom so I enrolled full time at Lake Tahoe Community College. At the end of the first year I was accepted at University of the Pacific in Stockton and Graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts. I went to grad school at California Institute of the Arts in Valencia California, and I graduated with an MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Stage Management in 2006.
I will begin a Masters Program to finish my Masters in Education in Januray 2009.
