Stacie's Story
Life
I'm living in the D.C. metro area with my husband Luis. We have been married since August 2001. After we returned from our honeymoon I started part-time law school at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. At the same time I worked as an Economist on the Republican staff of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee. I left the Committee at the end of 2002 after Phil Gramm retired and I took a job in international government affairs with KPMG LLP. I have been there ever since. I was just awarded my J.D. July 2005. I have a BA in Spanish and International Trade and an MA in Economics from Clemson. My husband is a Registered Nurse and rotates between George Washington University Hospital and Georgetown Hospital. We plan to relocate to Tampa/St. Pete in the near future. My parents, Dean and Jean Thomas, sell real estate in Pickens County South Carolina and my sister Colleen recently graduated with a doctorate in Microbiology from Texas A&M. She currently lives with my parents in Liberty, South Carolina, but will likely take a job in Athens, Georgia in the next couple of months.
