Stacy's Story
Life
What can I say? I'm happy with my life. I live in an Atlanta suburb and work as an Operations Manager for a small biotechnology company. I do not have any children, unless you count my two cats! I like landscaping and have spent three seasons creating flower beds on my front hills. I'd love to hear from old Nova friends and make new ones, so feel free to contact me
School
While at Nova High, I enjoyed most of my classes since I was fortunate enough to be able to do well without alot of studying! I was a member of the Exchangettes Club and that was a blast! I also played the flute in the Symphonic Band. I took my music very seriously and worked hard to win superior ratings at yearly competitions. But, my favorite part of being in the band was all the fun we had at football games. The fact that the band did not march on the field was my greatest disappointment since I had expected to attend my local high school and had learned to march the summer before ninth grade. If I wasn't already dedicated to the flute, I would have been a Titanaire!
College
For college I spent one semester abroad in Seville, Spain, at Columbus International College, then took colle...Expand for more
ge parallel courses at Broward Community College where my mother was a professor, until my junior and senior years when I attended University of Florida (Go Gators!) and earned my B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Management and a minor in Quantitative Management. I also attended Graduate School at Emory University.
Workplace
Most of my professional life has been spent working at universities, first as an academic services coordinator, then a contract and grants administrator. I am currently working in the private sector as an Operations Manager with a small biotechnology company which manufactures enzyme-based detergents used by the pulp and paper industry. Our products are environmentally friendly and allow our customers to use less caustic chemicals to produce pulp, paper and tissue products. We ship detergents to mills in Canada, North America, Central American, Latin America, Europe, Russia, the Middle East, etc., so I never know what logistics and customs issues are coming my way! I really like this job because of the wide variety of my responsibilities and the flexibility I have to make immediate, meaningful contributions in a small atmosphere.
