Stacy's Story
After graduation from CHS, I attended UCSD for 2 years, then off to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to complete my degree in Animal/Veterinary Science. Over the next three years I managed broodmare farms and was the technician at a large Equine Veterinary Hospital. Attended Vet School in Auburn, Alabama and finished my DVM degree in 1990. Traveled around: preceptorship in New Market, England; internship in Prince Edward Island, Canada; private practice in Maine, New Mexico, then the BEAUTIFUL Pacific Northwest.
While in Auburn, I met and married, last year divorced. For my mid-life "crisis" I sold property and was able to buy my own veterinary practice in Ocean Shores, WA. Now my 5 dogs and I "have" to walk on the beach every am before work (life is tough, but somebody has to do it!!), then again in the afternoon. It is absolutely fabulous here!
2 cats also share our humble abode.
Other interests are travel (US and Canada, England, Afri...Expand for more
ca, Australia...), acting in community theatre, kayaking, stamping, scrapbooking, reading, stained glass, stunt kite flying...
I am very active in this tiny community (3500 year round residents, NO traffic lights!): involved with the local animal rescue group, animal control, doing "no cost" spay neuter clinics, chamber of commerce, fine arts assoc, "yacht" club (we all have little party barges)... stay very busy and have LOTS of fun!
For six years, prior to moving to "the beach", we lived "off the grid" in a log home deep in the woods of western WA state. that was a wonderful and close to nature time. Loved generateing our own power (solar) and reducing our environmental "footprint". The dogs and I would go for many miles hiking in the woods.
I recently heard that our class IS having a reunion in October. It would be nice to see old classmates and renew friendships. Hope to attend and see alot of you there!
