Stan's Story

After 36 years at The Oregonian (the last 25 as TV editor), I retired at the end of 2007. A buyout offer was just too good to refuse. In fact, 28 of the 35 who were offered the deal took it. Wife Nancy (we've been married 30 years) continues to work two days a week as a nurse. Son is a senior at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology ...Expand for more
in Terre Haute, Ind., majoring in biomedical engineering. Daughter is a senior at Portland State, majoring in art history. They graduate within two weeks of each other this spring. We love to travel.
