Stanley's Story

After working for 6 months after H.S. Joined the USAF so I would not get drafted. Spent 3 of 4 years in Asia (Japan, Korea, Viet Nam). Came back and worked at Procter & Gamble. The company was generous to it's employees; my father worked there over 33 years, however most people were "worn" and showed their age x 2. I decided to give College a Try. Graduated from Catonsville Community College in Medical Laboratory Technology. Worked 10 years at the MD Dept of Agriculture as a Lab Scientist and at the University of Maryland as a Lab Tech. Completed a B.S. at Univ MD in Microbiology. Much of my Lab work was at a Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in College Park. Started taking computer/info sci courses in early 80's then switched careers ...Expand for more
and obtaining another B.S. Worked 15 years at Goddard Spaceflight Center as Data Analyst and Software Tester, then switched to where the real money was: as a DOD contractor for 10 years. Just retired and living in the area (Silver Spring). I finally took an interest in U.S. History. In H.S. my dislikes were English and History. Have time to travel and play lots of tennis. DINKER until this year (Double Income, NO Kids), now only the wife works. I went to our 25th SHS reunion. I was disappointed that a few people I recognized did not remember me. Some of the folks I did keep in touch with at times: Bill Hall, Maureen Faby, Birl Butler, although I haven't heard from Bill or Birl. Wishing you good health and Happiness. Kind Regards, Stan
