Stanley Thomas:  

Life Born on the north side of Chicago near Sheffield and Belmont. We lived in a basement apartment where I was born on the kitchen table, number 7 of 13 children. I spent first and second grade and part of third grade at St. Alphonsus. At 8 years of age we moved to the southside where I then attended St. Bernards. We lived in the old convent at 6536 S. Harvard as my dad worked for the church. In 1964, his job disappeared and we moved briefly to the southwest side and then to Lawrence and Avers on the northwest side. 3 years later we moved to Ashland and Addison. At 19 I was drafted. I spent 2 years in the Army; 13 months in Korea. On returning, I went to computer programming school and became a programmer. I 3 children, born in 73, 76 and 79. I moved my family to Roselle Il. in 1978, where we lived until 1998. I currently live in La Grange Park with my wife. Since we moved so much growing up it has been difficult for me to find my old friends. I remember Mary Fitzsimmons, Pat Perry, Pat Deacy, Barbara Brier, Rich Rohrbach, Bob Kalvaitis, Carol Speiser, Tommy Casinus, Mike Kerwin, etc. all friends from around 79 street on the south side when I was about 15.
