Well, I really didn't graduate with you guys...I moved to Washington during the summer before 11th grade. BUT I remember my classmates at Ozark better than the people I actually graduated with at West Valley High. There were about 250 people in my class and it was hard to get to know them in the 2 short years I was there. I did have a great time though. Anyway, I graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in Geography and Land Studies, Land Use Planning and Analysis Focus in 1997. Yes, it is pretty much as useless as it sounds but I could actually get credits for going to the Caribbean and the South Pacific! I decided to give my education a little more substance by going to graduate school in Natural and Cultural Resource Management. I completed all the credits for my MS but became miserable while trying to write my thesis and decided to get a job instead. I had moved to Seattle with my fiance and started looking for work. found a job at a Salmon Hatchery for the summer of '99 and then got a job as a Land Use Planner for a consulting company. We worked for VoiceStream Wireless doing the permitting for cellular facilities. I absolutely hated doing the 60-70 hour a week corporate cut-throat thing and constantly having a cell phone stuck to my head while racing to meet ever changing deadlines in what is supposed to be the worst traffic in the US. So I quit. Now I own a beautiful house that I can't pay for and wonder why I can't get a decent job when the economy is so great. BUT I'm trying to remain patient and am telling myself that some fun opportunity will come along soon. Meanwhile, I have a wonderful husband and live in a pretty cool place. It's beautiful here in the Northwest where you can hike through sagebrush and sand dunes, ski down snowy mountains and take a walk on a beautiful beach all in the same day.
