Starla's Story

Life HI I live in the San Francisco area now, we've been here for 29 years. I have two great girls -18 and 22 years old, with both now in university/college. I am a gemmologist-I do appraisal work, buy and sell diamonds and colored stones, and work in a jewelry store. I also teach and tutor courses in gemology. I have a great husband, Ralph Turner, who came from West Van. We met a UBC. I love playing soccer and usually play 3-5 times a week depending on the season. It is an amazing game. keep in touch when I'm home. I keep in touch with Sheila Hutcheon and Debbie Feinstien too. Life is great! It's fun hearing from my classmates. My brothers, Blake and Glen, still live in the area so I get a chance to see them a couple of times a year when I make the trek up. My girls and I are coming up for the Olympics-we got hockey tickets-that is going to be so cool. Starla I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right as I now teach gemology..
