Stefanie's Story
Life
I graduated from Vanderbilt University in May96 with a double major in Human and Organizational
Development and Psychology. (In case anyone's wondering, I decided pretty early on in college that I didn't want to be a doctor.) College was great. I had a ton of fun and made awesome friends. I grew up a lot and "came out of my shell".
Anyway, I wound up at an internet company in Nashville during the early phases of the industry. I transferred with my job to LA in June98.
Then my life turned into a cliche... My company was bought out, I lost my job, and the best offer I had was to move to Kansas City (where my parents now live) and live rent and stress-free for awhi...Expand for more
le. My parents also somehow managed to get all other members of my immediate family here too, so it looks like I'll be here for awhile. After teaching preschool for two years, I decided to go to law school. I graduated from Washburn University Law School in May 2006. I worked for a year as the Protection Order Project Attorney at the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence. I'm now working as an attorney with Kansas Legal Services working on family law cases mainly with survivors of domestic violence.
I live with my rockstar husband Casey and our dog Shana in the KC metro area. Most of my free time is spent with my friends and family and at Casey's shows.
