Stephanie's Story
Life
After high school I moved to southern California, for college. I stayed there until 1999, when I got a job in Chicago. I had never even been in the Midwest before the interview, but liked what I saw and decided to go for it. This was in December. Yes, I left LA for Chicago in December. However things have worked out really well. While I miss the mountains and LAs beautiful weather, along with great Mexican and Chinese food, dog-friendly places, etc, Chicago is one of the best cities in the world. Rogers Park neighborhood, otherwise known as the Peoples Republic of Rogers Park. Of course I love it.
My husband, Torrick, is a government lawyer. For a variety of reasons, Ive spent my entire career in legal journalism. Im now at the ABA Journal, which is a publication of the American Bar Association. We have two sons. Our oldest, Franklin, was born on Christmas Eve, 2004. Alan came 15 months later. Every time you turn around one of them needs something, but meeting those needs is wonderful. We also have two pugs, Herbie and Pugbert.
