children, cook, walk in the mornings or evenings or both, work hard, worry, etc. Would like to be more politically active in my community. Care deeply about important issues, but am beyond exhausted. Concerned for the future, but remain hopeful and good-humored. Ever the optimist and genuinely happy these days. So much sweetness and goodness in the world. Trying to live well, love well, and just be real. Remember high school as a blur of learning, yearning, hiding and seeking. Glad I emerged healthy and not too afraid of life. Grateful for some really good teachers, friends, life lessons. Astonished by how much I thought I knew and didn't. Wish I hadn't spent so much time worried about what other people thought. Wish I had been braver and more adventurous. No regrets. Just hoping that my high-school-junior daughter uses this time in her life to live more fully than I did and be more authentic than I was! Cannot believe I am 49! Feel exactly as I did as a teenager minus some energy. I guess we really do just become more of who we really are. Love, love, love to come "home" for visits. My parents still live in Bridgeport! Sometimes take my children down memory lane trips that always include a pilgrimage to the Merritt Canteen. Yum.
