Stephanie's Story
I was happy to leave high school for art college. Art school was my grand coming of age experience. I am grateful for the education that I received at CFHS in college prep and the art department. I enjoyed studying philosophy and psychology while at art school. I could be as intense as I wanted to be in art school. Delving into theory, life as art and art as life appealed to me greatly. The human experience reflected in art and art as venue to express life... but again I did not enjoy the competition and shutting each other out or down that seems to come close to graduation [from art school]...And competition is not bad, it reflects the business world and survival in the world, its just not where my motivation comes from. stic success with my participation in a New York [SoHo] gallery representation/show [1992] and in packing to ship my sculptures, I badly fractured my right hand and could not sculpt for a year... So, I went back to school and became an occupational therapist, which is what I do to this day. I am SO happy to be an OT and would not change a thing about my education or my experience because I really feel I have arrived at where I am supposed to be & doing what I am best doing! At home, I have three kids, twins [m/f] born end of '02 and younger sibling [m] born early '04. I enjoy living in the country with lots of trees around the house on 5 acres. I use my creativity at home and at work. Lots of projects going and some finished. My best to you!
