Steve and wife Jan (English) class of '64 have lived in Australia since 1971 and in the state of Tasmania from December 1972 until today. We're not planning to leave either. I worked as a High School teacher of Industrial Arts and Art in several schools. Went back to college in 1986/87 and became a furniture designer/maker. I've operated my own small workshop and showroom since 1987 and still put in 5 days a week designing and building custom furniture plus some small items for the gift and tourist markets. My other major activity is gardening (vegetables and fruit trees). Rural Tasmania is a wonderful place to live and we enjoy our 11 acres to the full. Jan operated her own business for 28 years, a health food retail shop, She closed the business in 2007 and now spends her time doing various craft projects and doing her and my family history research.
