Stephen Blanchette, Jr.:  

Life I've worked as a software engineer and manager in the defense industry since 1987. Currently, I'm the Director for Software Systems and Acquisition at The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA. I've been married since 1991, and when not busy working, my wife and I enjoy gardening and traveling. I also dabble in genealogy. Workplace I am the Chief Engineer for Army Programs at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I manage the portfolio of Army work across the SEI in addition to providing direct technical support. Prior to joining the SEI, I was the Deputy Manager of Business Development for Software and Systems Engineering at the Ground Systems Division of United Defense in Santa Clara, California. In this role, I managed the establishment and operation of a new office at a customer site. I also developed and executed IR&D programs and reviewed proposals. I joined United Defense in 1996 as the Lead Engineer for Command and Control software on the Bradley A3 program and rose quickly to the position of Bradley Software Technical Lead, responsible for the schedule, cost, and technical performance of a staff of 40 engineers in the development and integration of software for all Bradley programs.
