Stephen's Story

Stephen's schools include Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. Stephen later attended Shimer College (Occasionally concentrated, mostly not), S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook (Theatre). Bounced from coast to coast a few times and landed in San Francisco where I was offered a terrific job in theater: design the lighting for the show, run the lighting for the show, break down all the lighting instruments and move the show to Berkeley, hang them all again, run the show and then move it all back to S.F. re-hang and run the show 4 times more. eceive a whopping salary of $50. My friend Tom, the U of S.B. philosophy major, was working as a plumber and said he could get me on the crew at $25/hour. I did the math (even though it took a while) and the Philosopher and the Theater Major joined the ranks of countless other over educated San Francisco working guys spouting Kierkegaard and Shakespeare at lunch. At one point there was a PhD, a M.A., and us in deep and serious discussions over lunch. More stories of my life, but you caught me monologuing so I'll stop and read a few of yours.
