Stephen's Story
While at Ramona, I spent most of my time trying out for basketball with Doug Stockham [which I never made] and trying out for baseball with Sam Pecchia [which I never made]. Darn that Last Cut!!!
I remember Mr Klock-with his Batman tests, Mr Greene with his psychology and encounter sessions, sensitivity training, where I fell asleep at the YMCA during deep relaxation, the trust catches and back-to-back encounters.
After Ramona, there was RCC- where most every graduate was destined to go. I started out with a General Education degree. It wasn't until the second year, when I took an Oral Interpret class and found my bearings.
Then Cal State Long Beach with a major in Speech Communications and a BA. It provided much ability ...Expand for more
in interpersonal communication and interviewing- which helped me tremendously in my career.
Interests: I became quite good in Volleyball at RCC and Long Beach, then discovered Canoeing- both flatwater and whitewater. But wouldn't ya know that there's not much water in Southern Calif? The local lake, Fairmont Park, doesn't quite cut it.
Two kids (?). My son- who's a Marine at Camp Pendelton as a Lance Corporal- has just returned from a seven month stint in Iraq ending last April '09. He's now being sent back to his old unit in January, and is again deployable. He's going on an Ocean Voyage Across the Pacific- courtesy of the USMC.
And a daughter, who is just entering RCC in Sept '09 and works for a local hamburger shop.
