Stephen's Story
After graduating HS I got married to Cheryl Creekpaum, had a daughter but we divorced by 72. I went back to college but it didn't stick. By the mid 70's I was living in the Mideast. 78 I moved to Hawaii and began shipping out on merchant/passenger ships. Met my wife to be in 85 and she told me I should move to New England with her and be happy. Well I'm still happy with her, but not New England. But I'm a firefighter here so I'm stuck. Have two great kids, Adam 22 in college here and Sarah 19 first year of college in Florence Italy. First daughter, Sandi, will be 39 in April...so I guess I did get old, but I don't feel it. I am again, getting divorced. almost 27 years. Maybe I was happy with New England more. As most of you know it can get deep and complicated. I am still a Firefighter here in RI. Oldest guy on the job, thank you very much. But still one of the ones in the best shape. I like to work out, and take my job seriously. I came late to Pacifica. Late of Daily City. Tough transition. But I remember many of you, I think I was under the radar for the most part. I miss the freedom of the 60's. I miss the distance the Mid. East brought. You could not have found me for 3 years back then. Pubs, thumbs and hostels. I am just back from Dublin. Some of the old distance from it all crept in. Nice. Write when you can.
