Stephen's Story
After graduating, I went to work for Hines Lumber Co until 1968, when I was drafted in to the Army. They (naturally) sent me to Vietnam, where I spent the year 1969 in the Mekong Delta with the 9th Infantry Div.
I was wounded in combat (Purple Heart) there, but that didn't mean anything at 19years old!
After the Army stint, I married Terri Cockerill. We moved to Ridgecrest California in 1971 so I coud pursue a decent job. I landed a job as a Mailman with the U.S.P.S 1972-1997. We had a son in 1974....he's 37 now and a Dad himself. She and I divorced in 1976.
I had a daughter from a second marriage, but she died just 2 weeks ago (7-23-11)from an ...Expand for more
accidental Xanax OD. I have been (again) single since 1980. I developed PTSD from My Vietnam experience and am diabetic because of exposure to Agent Orange.
I now live in Medford Or. and am a Disabled Veteran.
Yes, I still play the guitar! I also restore old radios and am a vacuum tube collector. My apartment is FULL of radios from 1928 to, say, 1960. Quite the man-cave, huh? lol
I am also quite active in politics and am a Tea Party Conservative. TERRORIST? Hell no, just a Patriot.
I wish I was still a hardbody like Jim Wegner, but I weigh 250 and am BALD! At 62 years old, I'm thankful to still be extant and relatively healthy for such an old fart.
