Stephen's Story
Life
After High School I attended GRCC and Received my Pre-professional in accounting. In 1996 I went back to pierce and earned an AAS in Computer Science with concentration in C++ Programming.
I met my wife Christine at Houstons dance club in Tacoma and we have been married since 1995. We have an 13 y/o daughter Alyssa,8 y/o son Jacob and a 10 Month old son Craig.
I worked for IBM as a Customer Engineer for 6 years. I now work as an Electronic Mechanic for the Dept of Defense, as a civilian technician. I work on microwave and satellite radio systems. My job sends me all over the world working on military radio systems. I also have been in the Washington Air National Guard for the past 18 years. I work 4 days...Expand for more
a week, which allows me to volunteer as a tutor for my son Jacob's class at Prairie elementary school. I coach youth Baseball, Basketball and Football in Yelm. I deployed to Afghanistan with the U.S. Air Force last year and it gave me a whole new perspective on how other cultures live.
I live on five arces out in Yelm where we have a cow and a black lab dog named Brandy.
Military
I have been in the Washington Air National Guard for the past 17 years. I have been working full time for the Guard for the past 12 years. I have visited Japan, Korea, Greenland and Thailand in support of Joint Exercises. Last year I deployed to Turkey, Turkministan, Germany and Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
