Stephen's Story

I am an ordinary man. I found true love and lost it, if you know me then you knew Tina. We were together for 23 years until the lord called her home. Her passing took the wind out of my sails for quite a while. I almost lost myself in the pain. I took a chance and let someone into my world. I should have been more selective. She was not faithful and we parted ways in Dec 09. Oh well I started out with nothing and thankfully I still have most of it left. My 2 sons grew up to make me proud. Stephen graduated from Stephen F Austin and works for the Dallas Community College as an IT Manager. Christopher is a Corporal in the Marine Corps and is serving in Afghanistan and I haven't slept a wink since he deployed lol. I have fulfilled a lifelong dream and completed my basic training and became a fireman earlier this year. My day job is as a Construction Coordinator in the transportation group of a local engineering company providing field engineering support for the design packages of the expansion of the METRO Lightrail System. Ya, pretty long winded but that's what it says on my resume. Simply put, I fix problems. I like that description better but the marketing department will not let me use it. t me to this place, this time in my life. Truth is I have never been happier. I have never seen so much that is left to do. I only hope that in what I have left I can make the grand statement, the lasting impression that marks a life well spent. I am content in what has passed, I did what it was I was sent to do for those who needed me. So if today is my last then so be it. But I know that there is so much left undone. There are so many memories to be made, so many lives to touch. I cannot wait for tomorrow to come. I have lived a blessed life. My sons became the men I could have only dreamed they would have been, their mother seen to that. I suited up and showed up but she live it. I am glad to have known her. I never knew a day in my life I was not loved. But life is for the living so I trudge on. To my sons I can only hope that I have given them all that was asked and all they would ever need. There truly is nothing more I can contribute to the wonderful men they have become except for one thing. No matter how old you get boys, it is ok to watch cartoons, laugh until milk runs out your nose, and don't worry about over using the phrase I love you. You are everything I am, and are everything I like about myself. So to my friends, old and new, drop me a line and let's catch up. Hope to hear from ya'll soon. Regards, Steve.
