Stephen's Story

Life I spent most of the 1990s in Central America and Mexico working as a journalist, among other things. I returned to Canada in 1998, but have maintained my interest in the mesoamerica region and return there several times a year for work-related acitvites and to vist the family of my wife Carmen. I am currently living in East Vancouver. I have two Children, Ana Camila, aged 11 and Diego, aged 7. I work at two jobs related to promoting and ...Expand for more
improving public education in the Americas. One is as Education Program Director with CoDevelopment Canada, and the other is as Technical Secretary for the Initiative for Democratic Education in the Americas (IDEA). I also volunteer with Cafe Justicia, a Canadian organization that imports fair trade coffee and sugar from a Mayan social movement in Guatemala and uses the profits to support human rights and social justice groups in that country.
